Shaykh 'Abdullāh bin 'AbdAl-Rahmān Abā Buṭayn (d. 1282H/1865CE) was a Faqīh of Najd during his time. He was born in Ar-Rawḍah in the village of Sudīr. He traveled to Shām and when he returned, he became the Qadī of Ṭā'if.
After the atrocious, barbaric attack on the Mosque in Sinai Egypt on Friday 24th November 2017, many non-muslims, and even the general common folk among the muslims, were shocked that those claiming to be muslim would take up arms and inflict a bloody massacre on innocent civilians at a place of worship, murdering over 300 men, women and children. As our Shaykh, the ʿĀlim and the eldest amongst the Salafī scholars who are still alive in Egypt and the wider Muslim world, Shaykh Ḥasan ibn ʿAbdul Wahhāb al-Bannā said: these are the known actions of the khawārij; an ancient renegade group of people, who's head emerged in the time of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و سلم), and were responsible for the killing of some of the best of the companions of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و سلم), like ʿUthmān and ʿAli.”
We at Mpubs, sought advice from our father, the noble Shaykh Ḥasan, to advise us and the Muslims in general, how best to respond to those who are unaware of these evil criminals and their methodology. The Shaykh gave an elaborate advice, replete with insightful points, indicative of his seniority of almost a century's worth of experience in the daʿwah. As our Shaykh mentioned a beautiful story, highlighting the salient point of his fatherly advice, we recognize how truly intuitive the Shaykh's speech is, characteristic of an elder scholar indeed! The question posed to the Shaykh was:
[Q]: Many non Muslims ask us why would Muslims attack and kill other Muslims like what happened yesterday in Sinai Egypt especially in a Masjid. What advice can you give us on how to explain this to them our noble Shaykh?
