This event will be broadcast LIVE in Masjid Ibn 'Abbaas, Tobago, two masaajid in Trinidad, Masjid ul Khaleefah and Masjid us Sunnah, and six masaajid in the U.S. Masjid Al-Bukhaari, Florida, Masjid Ibn 'Abbas, Georgia, Masjid Uthaymeen, New Jersey, Masjid Nur Allaah, New York, Masjid as-Sahabah, Ohio and Masjid Tawheed, Michigan.
This lecture event will be translated LIVE into English In shaa Allah.
Allah has encouraged the believers to seek His forgiveness and turn repentantly to Him in many verses of the Qur’aan. From them, Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala) says,
“And (commanding you): “Seek the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him in repentance, that He may grant you good enjoyment, for a term appointed, and bestow His abounding Grace to every owner of grace [Soorah Hud: 3]
“O you who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will remit from you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow [Soorah Tahreem: 8]
“Truly, Allah loves those who turn unto Him in repentance and loves those who purify themselves.” [Soorah Baqarah: 222]
“And whoever does evil or wrongs himself but afterwards seeks Allah's forgiveness, he will find Allah Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” [Soorah an-Nisaa`:110]
`Ali bin Abi Talhah said that Ibn `Abbaas commented about this aayah, "Allah informs His servants of His forgiveness, forbearing generosity and expansive mercy. So whoever commits a sin, whether minor or major, “but afterwards seeks Allah's forgiveness, he will find Allah Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful” even if his sins were greater than the heavens, the earth and the mountains.'' [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]
Likewise, it comes in the Sunnah that the Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said,
"All the progeny of Aadam (constantly) errs and the best of those who constantly err are those who (constantly) repent.” [Reported by [At-Tirmidhi] no. 2501 and [Ibn Majah] no. 4251 and [Ad- Daarimee] 2/303 and [Ahmad] 3/198 with a hasan sanad from Anas bin Malik]
Anas bin Malik Al-Ansari (radhiyAllahu ‘anhu) the servant of the Messenger of Allah narrated: Messenger of Allah (sallAllahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, "Verily, Allah is more delighted with the repentance of His slave than a person who lost his camel in a desert land and then finds it (unexpectedly)". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
Thus, it is not befitting for the believing servant of Allah to lose hope in the Mercy of his Lord. Our Shaykh Usamah al-‘Amri (hafidhahullah) will remind us of this lofty affair by presenting us with verses from the Book of Allah, the Sunnah of our Messenger (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and the statements of the People of Knowledge.
We ask Allah, Al-Ghafoor Ar-Raheem to forgive us and have mercy upon us all and we seek refuge in Him from ever losing hope in His extensive mercy.
