Bismillaah wa -Alhamdulillaah wa Salaatu wa Salaam 'alaa Rasulillaah 'amma ba'd
Muwahhideen Publications is pleased to present our brothers and sisters with a two part series entitled “The Pillars of The Shahaadah” with Shaykh ‘Abdul Wasee’ as-Sa’eedi (May Allaah Preserve Him). Shaykh ‘Abdul Wasee’ is a student of Ash-Shaykh Al-Allaamah Al-Muhaddith, The Imaam of Yemen, Abu ‘Abdur Rahmaan Muqbil Ibn Hadee al-Waadi’ee (rahimahullah); he is based in Mafraq Hubaish, Yemen and is also a student of our Shaykh 'Abdul'Azeez ibn Yahya al-Bura'ee (hafidhahullaah) there. This event will be broadcast LIVE in Masjid Ibn 'Abbaas, Tobago, two masaajid in Trinidad, Masjid ul Khaleefah and Masjid us Sunnah, and six Masaajid in the U.S. Masjid Al-Bukhaari, Florida, Masjid Ibn 'Abbas, Georgia, Masjid Uthaymeen, New Jersey, Masjid Nur Allaah, New York, Masjid as-Sahabah, Ohio and Masjid Tawheed, Michigan.
This lecture event will be translated LIVE into English inshaaAllaah.
We have now reached part two of our series which is entitled “The Second Pillar of Affirmation and The Effects of Tawheed”.
The testification ‘Laa ilaaha ill Allaah’, which enters one into the fold of Islaam and is the very foundation upon which an individual’s Islaam is built has pillars and certain conditions that must be met in order for it to be accepted.
The pillars are two and include An-Nafi (negation) and Al-Ithbaat (affirmation). In the first part of the statement we say “Laa ilaaha” which means ‘there is no deity possessing the sole right to be worshiped in truth and by right’; this is the negation. And in the latter half of the statement we say “ill Allaah” which means ‘except Allaah’; this is the affirmation of the statement.
So it is not enough for a person to simply utter the Shahaadah without internalizing these concepts. It is absolutely imperative that one negates belief in at-Taaghoot (all false deities) as well as reject the worship of them and firmly affirm and establish his belief in Allaah and worship of Him alone without any partners.
As Allaah says in the Qur’aan:
“And whoever disbelieves in Taaghoot [false deities] and believes in Allaah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allaah is the All-Hearer the All-Knower.” [Al-Baqarah: 256]
Shaykh ‘Abdul Wasee’ (hafidhahullaah) will enlighten us concerning this great matter of the establishment of Tawheed and abandonment of Shirk which is obligatory for every Muslim to have certain knowledge about.
We ask Allaah to grant us understanding of this deen and that He keeps us firm upon Tawheed and all that He loves and is pleased with.
