Our Shaykh offered a golden advice following the horrendous suicide bombing attack in Manchester. He began by
Firstly, he commenced his advice by addressing the questioner and students of knowledge. He admonished them concerning the importance of verifying details from reliable sources. He further advised to expediently return this affair to the major scholars of Islām; such as, Ash-Shaykh Rabī b.Hadī al-Madhkhalī (حفظه الله)
The Shaykh stressed that while residing in the lands of the non-muslims, we must abide by their laws; however, if we wish we can leave and reside elsewhere.
So long as the non-muslims allows us to worship Allāh freely, and they don't interfere with us establishing our prayers and we are safe [in their land] then we can reside amongst them. However, if we cannot do this, then we must relocate to the lands of the Muslims.
If we live among the non-Muslims, we must speak to them and liaise with the authorities and the heads of our municipalities. We must educate them and clarify that all acts of terrorism are not from Islām, and that the Muslims and the followers of the Sunnah are free from such acts.
He also said regarding the trouble makers among us; who cause friction between us and the non-muslims [i.e the khawarij], that we must free ourselves from them. He then emphasized that it is upon us to advise those troublemakers, if the opportunity arises.
He continues to advise that we must speak openly and relay the mistakes of these people to the non-muslims. We must talk to the level-headed non-muslims amongst us and open up dialogue with them. He suggested that we form a council/committee amongst the Salafīs to sit with them, teach, clarify and explain that terrorism and senseless violence is not from Islām.
The Shaykh continues with his fatherly advice. The Muslims in the west are encouraged to listen attentively and take heed bi'idnillāh.
