الحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله وعلى آهله وصحبه أجمعين
One of the beautiful works of Imām Ibn Al-Qayyim is his book al-Fawāʾid. Al-Fawāʾid is a book wherein he gathers just that, Fawāʾid, various benefits. The bulk of these benefits revolve around the affairs of raqāʾiq and the affairs of heart-suffering passages that cause the believer to think and to reflect and to consider himself and consider that which he is upon from dīn and where he lies in relation to his Lord. That is, how is his relation with Allāh Subḥānahu wa-taʿālā at the present? How can he better where he is with Allāh Subḥānahu wa-taʿālā ? And he likewise makes mention of that which is connected to those affairs that occurred in the past, that one may reflect upon them, and those things that the Prophet ﷺ spoke of and foretold. Beautiful benefits, beautiful short passages, often times.
