Question:
As for what is mentioned about Laylatul Qadr as being better than 1000 months, does this mean that every type of worship is better than 1000 months? Eg. reciting Qurʾān on Laylatul Qadr is better than reciting Qurʾān for 1000 months?
Answer:
Allāh (عز وجل) rewards and multiplies the rewards of his servants on this night, and this is from the bounty that Allāh (سبحانه وتعالى) has showered upon the ummah of Muḥammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). The lifespan for the sons and daughters of Ādam for this ummah is between 60 and 70 years and because the lifespan of this ummah is shorter having come last chronologically after the other ummah, Allāh (عز وجل) has recompensated this ummah by doing something that will make it catch up with the other umam (nations) which is multiplying their rewards such that whoever coincides with this night doing acts of worship, gets it multiplied by 1000 months and even more. This is the bounty of Allāh (سبحانه وتعالى) upon this ummah.
