Weekly Audio Class with Shaykh ʿAlī al-Waṣīfī – The First Knowledge-Based Journey – Explanation of the Book, “The Refutation of al-Dārimī on Bishir al-Mirīsī”

Bismillāh wa-Alḥamdulillāh wa al-Ṣalātu wa al-Salām ʿalá Rasūl Allāh ʿamma baʿd

Muwahhideen Publication is pleased to announce a weekly class with the Noble Shaykh ʿAlī al-Waṣīfī (may Allāh preserve him). The Shaykh is a student of Shaykh Ḥasan bin ‘Abd Al-Wahhāb Marzūq al-Bannā (may Allāh have mercy upon him) and is also recommended by him. When Shaykh Ḥasan was asked, “Who are (the mashāyikh) of Ahl al-Sunnah in Egypt?” From those he mentioned by name was Shaykh ʿAlī al-Waṣīfī.

This weekly class will be translated LIVE into English In Shāʾ Allāh.

Our Shaykh chose the book The Refutation of al-Dārimī on Bishir al-Mirīsī due to the importance given to it by the two great Scholars, Ibn al-Qayyim and Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allāh have mercy upon them).

Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (may Allāh have mercy upon him) stated in his book Ijtimāʿ al-Juyūsh al-Islāmiyah, “And his (al-Dārimī’s) two books (al-Radd ʿalá Bishir al-Mirīsī and al-Radd ʿalá al-Jahmiyyah) are from the most excellent and beneficial books written concerning the Sunnah (al-ʿAqīdah) and it is imperative that every person seeking the Sunnah and wanting to be upon what the Companions, Tābiʿīn and the Imāms were upon, to read his two books.”

Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allāh have mercy upon him) used to be extremely keen to advise with these two books and held them in very high regard as they include establishing (the correct position concerning) al-Tawḥīd, (Allāh’s) Names and Attributes with textual and logical proofs and includes what other books do not.
