On Wednesday 8th of Rabī al-Awwal 1438 (7th December 2016), in our weekly class in the explanation of the book, “The Book of Major Sins” by Shaykh ul Islām Muḥammad ibn ‘AbdilWahhāb, our noble Shaykh Bandar al-Khaybarī (اللهحفظه ) admonished us regarding the obligation of obedience to one’s parents and the severity of disobedience to them.

“Furthermore, Islām is not a religion that only came to show the servant how to establish the relationship between himself and His Lord, rather Islām teaches the servant how to rectify his relationship with everything and everyone around him; how one should interact with his parents, relatives, neighbours, the innovators and even the animals. Islām commands us to obey and keep ties with our parents and to treat them kindly. Islām commands us to treat others kindly. Islām is a complete way of life, which teaches us how to interact with everything and everyone around us.”
