On Thursday 1st Dū al-Qaʿdah 1440 (4th July 2019) our noble Shaykh Ḥasan ibn ʿAbdul Wahhāb al-Bannā (may Allāh preserve him) was asked about a salafī brother who continuously allows his wife to travel without a maḥram (the guardian required for travel in the Islāmic Legislation). The Shaykh elaborates about the lack of praiseworthy jealousy that this person possesses. He speaks about the honour of the woman in Islām and the jealousy that our beloved Messenger Muḥammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم had for the women under his care, that every man should have. This is truly one of those defining injunctions of the Islamic Legislation that has been revealed to preserve the family structure and by extension a chaste and honourable society. May Allāh make us from those that have praiseworthy jealousy and protect us from blameworthy jealousy.
