- Ḥadīth Four: Deeds Are By Their Final Actions: ‘AbdAllah ibn Mas’ūd reported: The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ), said: Verily, the creation of each one of you is brought together in his mother’s womb for forty days as a drop, then he is a clot for a similar period, then a morsel for a similar period, then there is sent to him the angel who blows the spirit into him and he is commanded regarding four matters: to write down his provision, his life span, his deeds, and whether he is happy or miserable. By Allah other than whom there is no God, one of you acts like the people of Paradise until he is but an arm’s length from it, and what is written overtakes him so he acts like the people of Hellfire and he enters it. Verily, one of you acts like the people of Hellfire until he is but an arm’s length from it, and what is written overtakes him so he acts like the people of Paradise and he enters it.

- Ḥadīth 6: Lawful and unlawful are clear: Al-Nu’man ibn Bashir reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:Verily, the lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, and between the two of them are doubtful matters about which many people do not know. Thus, he who avoids doubtful matters clears himself in regard to his religion and his honor, and he who falls into doubtful matters will fall into the unlawful as the shepherd who pastures near a sanctuary, all but grazing therein. Verily, every king has a sanctum and the sanctum of Allah is his prohibitions. Verily, in the body there is a piece of flesh which if upright then the entire body is upright, and if corrupt then the entire body is corrupt. No doubt it is the heart.
- In another narration, the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Make between yourself and the unlawful a barrier of what is lawful. Whoever does so will clear himself in regard to his honor and his religion. A shepherd who grazes near the side of a sanctum will nearly fall into it. Verily, every king has a sanctum and the sanctum of Allah is his prohibitions.

Then, the Prophet (ﷺ) recited the verse:

O (you) Messengers! Eat of the Taiyibat [all kinds of Halal (legal) foods which Allah has made legal (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables, fruits, etc.], and do righteous deeds. Verily! I am Well-Acquainted with what you do.
And Allah said:

- Questions asked in the QA Session with corresponding answers for minute markers:
- Q.1) The question resolves around a narration in regards that Umm Salamah (may Allāh be pleased with her) was asked about what clothes a woman should pray in. She said: “She should pray in a khimār (head cover) and a long garment that covers the tops of her feet.” (Narrated by Abū Dawood, 639) Imām Ahmed said “two clothes minimum, a khimār and a long garment”. If a woman wears one flowing piece, from head to floor, then what would constitute the second piece? Is this one flowing piece sufficient if it fulfils all the conditions of the ḥijāb? Can a woman pray in this flowing piece without any clothes under (i.e pants, shirts etc), providing the clothes isn’t thin? Does the under garament consistute a second garment? Or is this for preventing transparency and clothes sticking to the body? [00:43:30]

- Questions asked in the QA Session with corresponding answers for minute markers:
- Q.1) In regards to this ḥadīth we have just covered ‘leaving alone that which does not concern you”, many of the people of desires use this narration to say that the Muslim should unrestrictedly not get involved in the disputes between the scholars and the mashāyikh, even if one of them is refuted and openly disparage by one of the major scholars. Is this correct? And what should be the stance of the laymen in these sort of disputes? [00:32:46]
- Q.2) Regrading the conditions of the ḥijāb, if a woman prays in clothes which imitates the men or the kuffar, even though it fulfils the other conditions of the ḥijāb, e.g covers the ‘awrah, not being transparent and not being tight etc. What effect would this have on her ṣalāh? Would this invalidate her ṣalāh or make it deficient? A further example, if a woman wears a man’s thobe at home to pray in and this those covers her ‘awrah and satisfies all the conditons of ḥijāb, how does affect her ṣalāh? [00:49:56]
